Accessibility Statement

Strandhotel Zingst is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continuously improve user-friendliness for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2, BITV, and EN 301 549). This digital accessibility statement applies to the Strandhotel Zingst website published at https://www.strandhotel-zingst.de/.

Status of Compliance with Requirements

The website is currently not fully compliant with the technical requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 and the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0).

Non-Accessible Content

The following content is not accessible because it represents a disproportionate burden according to Section 12a Paragraph 6 of the German Federal Act on Accessibility of Persons with Disabilities (BGG):

  • The contrast between text and background is too low on almost all pages. | WCAG: 1.4.3
  • On some pages, there are iframe elements without labels. Navigation to the iframes with screen readers is difficult. | WCAG: 4.1.2
  • On several pages, the language stored in the HTML does not match the page language. | WCAG: 3.1.1
  • On almost all pages, there are form fields without labels. Navigation to the form fields with screen readers is difficult. | WCAG: 4.1.2
  • On all pages, there are buttons without labels. Navigation to the buttons with screen readers is difficult. | WCAG: 4.1.2
  • On several pages, there are headings that have no labels or contain the aria-hidden attribute and are therefore inaccessible to screen readers. | WCAG: 1.3.1
  • The meta viewport prevents zoom on all pages. Disabling zoom makes page content more difficult to read for people with visual impairments. | WCAG: 1.4.4
  • Invalid Aria attribute values exist on several pages. These are not detected by screen readers and therefore not displayed correctly. | WCAG: 4.1.2
  • On some pages, a parent element lacks the appropriate child elements. This can confuse screen reader users because they expect content, but none is there. | WCAG: 1.3.1
  • On some pages, there are elements with the Aria-hidden attribute that are simultaneously focusable. This makes these elements accessible to assistive technology even though they should be hidden. | WCAG: 4.1.2
  • On almost all pages, there are particularly important regions that are marked with the role 'region' but have no label. This prevents screen reader users from recognizing the purpose and content of the region. | WCAG: 1.3.1
  • Almost all pages contain scrollable elements that cannot be scrolled using the keyboard. This makes it difficult for users of assistive technology to view the entire page. | WCAG: 2.1.1

Reasons for the pending accessibility adjustments

The necessary adjustments to the current website have not yet been completed; a website relaunch with a focus on accessibility is currently underway. The new, accessible website is expected to be launched in Q3 2025.
